Google Apps Setup for OnSite Wellness
Initialize your account
Google Apps is now ready for the OnSite Wellness team to start sharing documents,
schedule meetings together and give a better email experience. Follow these steps
to setup your own personal account and use shared resources.
- Use your browser to visit the new http://gmail.onsitewellnessllc.com web mail site.
- Sign in using your first name (email address) and new temporary password.
- Change your password to a phrase of your choice (should be at least 8 mixed characters).
- Once you are logged in, you should see your new email inbox with links to the shared
calendar and
documents at the top.
Feel free to browse around and experiment with this new site, but we have a few
more steps to get you completely set up.
Install desktop applications
To share documents and use them offline, you need to install a couple new programs
to get everything fully functional.
- Click this link to install
Google chrome on your computer.
Chrome is a browser just like Internet Explorer and Firefox. You can use
it for all (most of) your internet activity, but you must use it with the
desktop application link below.
- Download and install Google Apps desktop. You can use any browser to download the
file.
- Once installed, you will see a new Google Apps group in your start menu and links
to onsitewellnessllc.com Email, Calendar and Docs on your desktop. Start any one
of these applications.
If chrome is new on your computer, you will need to sign in to your account with
the password you created in the first steps.
Setup email
If you are comfortable with the Gmail interface and want to use only that for email,
you can from any computer with internet access. However, if you would like
to continue using Outlook, here are some steps to convert your settings.
- Make sure that Outlook has all the latest fixes installed from Microsoft Update.
- Install Google
Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook on a computer with Outlook already installed.
- At the Google prompt, sign in with your full email address and the password you
created.
- Select which items you would like to import from your old settings into Google Apps
(more information). Turn AutoArchive off and click Create Profile.
- Read the getting started guide if you have more questions (like what's
different, set your default, etc.).
Blackberry setup
There are a several options for checking email and working with documents on mobile
devices. Choose the one below that fits your needs best.
- Install the Gmail client by visiting m.google.com/mail on your mobile device's
browser.
- OR -
- You can also use the built in email client of the mobile phone. If you need help
with this, visit the IMAP setup page for detailed instructions.
- OR -
- Use your phone browser to visit the gmail.onsitewellnessllc.com web mail
page. When opened from a phone, this site is optimized for the small screen size.
From this site, you can go to the docs.google.com/a/onsitewellnessllc.com
documents link at the top.
Your calendar and contacts can also be used on mobile phones. Once set up, appointments
created on the Blackberry will automatically be included in the calendar on your
computer.
- Select Get link on the Download Google Sync link of the m.google.com/sync
page.
- Open the calendar application and click "Google Sync" at the top of the menu.
Administration
To modify settings for the organization, visit the Control Panel dashboard. Help topics for relevant subjects
